worship

In Christianity, worship is the act of attributing reverent honor and homage to God. In the New Testament, various words are used to refer to its term. One is proskuneo which means to bow down to God or kings.

The nature of Christian worshipping is from the inside out and has two equally important parts. We must worship “in spirit and in truth” (John 4:23-24). Worshiping in the spirit has nothing to do with our physical posture. It has to do with our innermost being and requires several things.

First, we must be born again. Without the Holy Spirit residing within us, we cannot respond to God as a worshipper because we do not know Him. The Holy Spirit within us is the one who energizes worship because He is in essence glorifying Himself, and all true worship glorifies God.

Second, worshiping in spirit requires a mind centered on God and renewed by Truth.

Third, our can only worshiping in spirit comes by having a pure heart, open and repentant.

Daniel And The King's Dream

One night Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon had a very disturbing dream. All the wise men were summoned to him which included Daniel, to interpret the King’s dream. They faced a challenging problem though. He not only wanted the interpretation, but he also wanted them to tell him his dream. Serious consequences awaited them if … Read more

Jesus healed ten lepers

Sometimes when you read a Bible story, do you wonder how it could have anything to do with you? Like today’s story. I’m glad that Jesus healed the ten lepers. But how does that affect me? Somebody counted in the gospels that Jesus healed 26 different times. And I’m sure not all of His healings … Read more

Who Will Judge The World And When?

June 26, 2023 by RAMcKinley
Judge the World

The Apostle Paul frowned on the thought of a believer taking another believer to court. He went on to explain that one day believers will judge the world. Don’t you realize that someday we believers will judge the world? And since you are going to judge the world, can’t you decide even these little things … Read more

Storms in our Lives

We don’t like the storms in our lives but we will all face them. Confronted with a storm, the Apostle Paul had to choose between trusting God or suffering the consequences. But take courage! None of you will lose your lives, even though the ship will go down. Acts 27:22 It seems at times that … Read more

Trust in the Lord

David the writer of Psalm 40 offered plenty of reasons why we should put our trust in the Lord. He knew that God would never fail him. And we can know that as well. Many will see what he has done and be amazed. They will put their trust in the Lord. Psalm 40:3 Have … Read more

The Altar Of The Lord

August 19, 2023May 5, 2023 by RAMcKinley
Altar of the Lord

The Lord established the altar back in the Old Testament. Yet it still remains a special place to meet Him. Of course, our sacrifices today are much different than they were back then. In Number 7, Moses set up the Tabernacle and anointed it. He also set it apart as holy along with all its … Read more

His Yoke Is Easy

His Yoke Is Easy

When Jesus walked on the earth He taught that His yoke was easy and His burdens were light. I don’t think His disciples quite understood the gravity of that until after He ascended to heaven. Why do you try to test God by putting on the necks of the disciples a yoke that neither we … Read more

Victory Comes From The Lord

We have all had days of defeat and despair. Days when it seemed like nothing went your way and everyone was against you. In days like those, look to the Lord for your victory. But you, O LORD, are a shield around me; you are my glory, the one who holds my head high. Psalms … Read more

Authority In The Name Of Jesus

March 13, 2023March 13, 2023 by RAMcKinley
Authority In The Name Of Jesus

The religious leaders questioned the Lord while He was preaching and teaching in the temple. They wanted to know by whose name or authority Jesus was doing what He did. They demanded, “By what authority are you doing all these things? Who gave you the right?” Luke 20:2 This wasn’t the only time Jesus spoke … Read more
